Aid workers in one of history's largest relief efforts struggled to get food, water and medicine to survivors of tsunamis. The official death toll from one of the biggest tsunamis on record stood over 125,000. But with tens of thousands still missing, that number was almost certain to be much higher. There were fears that disease could bring a new wave of deaths. Without clean water, respiratory and waterborne diseases could break out within days, putting millions at "grave risk," the U.N. children's agency said. Donations for recovery efforts came in from all parts of the globe. China donated US$300,000 to the Thai Government. Minister of Commerce Bo Xilai said the second batch of aid materials are prepared.
